Big Brothers Big Sisters

Kansas Big Brothers Big Sisters matches children facing adversity with caring, adult mentors. They believe that all children - regardless of race, socioeconomic status, or family background - can achieve success in life, especially with the guidance and support of a caring adult mentor. These one-to-one professionally-supported friendships last a minimum of one year. However, the effects of these friendships last a lifetime. 

Citizens Climate Lobby

Citizens’ Climate Lobby is a non-profit, non-partisan, grassroots advocacy organization focused on national policies to address climate change.

In order to generate the political will necessary for passage of our Carbon Fee and Dividend proposal we train and support volunteers to build relationships with elected officials, the media and their local community.

Confluence Community Center

The Confluence Community Center is a place where organizations can come to utilize a space for an event. Some events that the CCC has held in the past include but are not limited to: BrownBag Outreach, Donation Drive and Volunteer Days, Homeless Outreach, Swing Dance Classes, LGBTQ Potluck & Meetup, Community Clean Up, and many more!

Wichita Habitat for Humanity became an official affiliate of Habitat for Humanity in October 1986. Since then, we’ve built more than 170 houses and placed 200 families in quality housing through new construction and rehabilitation.

Harbor House

Catholic Charities, Diocese of Wichita alleviates poverty and builds stable and strong families throughout 25 counties in south central and southeast Kansas.

They believe overcoming poverty is not just a task of charity, but an act of justice. Harbor House serves the hungry, homeless, victims of violence and those in family crises in their many programs and projects. They also work to repair the systems that fail people in poverty – and ultimately fail us all.

Kansas Humane Society

The Kansas Humane Society is a community resource for pets and people that helps abandoned and homeless animals in our community. Our animal shelter offers a wide variety of services to promote the human and animal bond. These include: pet adoptiondog trainingyouth education programs, spay/neuter services for the pets of low income families, community outreach, end of life services, animal rescue, pet rehoming, donation opportunities, Woofstock, and so much more. Trust Women

Trust Women Foundation is a leading reproductive health and rights organization working to re-establish access to abortion care in under-served areas. Trust Women opens clinics that provide abortion services in under-served communities so that all women can make their own decisions about their health care.

Trust Women will open clinics that provide abortion and maternal health care and full-spectrum reproductive health care, build community investment in those clinics, create model state public policies to expand abortion care, and improve maternal health.

United Way of the Plains

United Way of the Plains is a nonprofit that brings the community together to advance education, income, and health. United Way raises and distributes funds, recruits volunteers, and much more. 


Last year, United Way of the Plains helped 81,013 people in south central Kansas.

Volunteer Kansas

Volunteer Kansas' mission is to connect potential volunteers to local organizations that need their help. They work with organizations in many areas including: education, children and families, animal welfare, violence and bullying, poverty, environment, health and fitness, disaster relief, human rights and more. Helping these organizations find volunteers makes Kansas a better place to live.

Wichita Area Sexual Assault Center works with individuals and communities through comprehensive services and education to create a culture of intolerance for sexual violence and an atmosphere of healing for those impacted by it.

The Wichita Children’s Home is a non-profit organization that offers the only emergency, temporary, and residential care for children in our community. We are open 24/7 and rely on community support to continue to meet the needs of and ensure the safety of children in need.

The mission of the Wichita Family Crisis Center is to eliminate domestic violence in our community by supporting survivors through shelter, education, and advocacy.

Formerly known as the YWCA Wichita, the Wichita Family Crisis Center is a private, non-profit, 501(c)(3) corporation that began operations in 1907 as a chartered member of the YWCA USA. The first residence was established for single women who were traveling or staying away from home; women entering the workforce were provided with employment aide; and a lunchroom was opened for working women that provided an economical and well-balanced meal.
